Summer Enrichment Camp Programs

For all Summer Enrichment Camp Classes orders, you will see an “Administrative Fee” and a “Processing Fee” displayed during the checkout process. The fees are as follows: “Administrative Fee” will be 3.49% of each item placed in the shopping cart, plus a “Processing Fee” of $0.49 cents per transaction.     Biotechnology Boot Camp

    Biotechnology High School (BTHS): July 11-July 15 9AM-1PM (6th-8th grade) OR July 18 - July 22 9AM-1PM (6th-8th grade)
    In this one week camp, 6th-8th grade students will be introduced to the exciting field of biotechnology in 5 five hour sessions. Students will learn to use state of the art equipment to perform the following techniques: DNA gel electrophoresis, DNA fingerprinting, cancer gene detection,  genetically engineering bacteria to glow in the dark, and identification of genetically modified organisms. Current issues such as stem cells and cloning will also be introduced.

    In this one week camp, 6th-8th female students will be introduced to the exciting field of biotechnology in 5 five hour sessions.     Forensics Boot Camp

    Biotechnology High School (BTHS): July 11-July 15 9AM-1PM (6th-8th grade) OR June 27-July 1 9AM-1PM (6th-8th grade)
    This forensics science camp is for 6th-8th grade students looking to apply science to criminal and civil laws as being used in the criminal justice system. They will utilize various scientific disciplines such as: biology, chemistry, geology, and physics. There are a variety of lab skills that are necessary to study forensic science including: handwriting analysis, using a microscope, micropipetting, comparison of impressions, and analyses of blood spatter to name a few. The use of these lab skills allows for a multitude of real-world applications. At the end of this course students will develop their critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills while having a deeper understanding and appreciation for forensics.
