This HIGH SCHOOL program prepares individuals to practice as licensed plumbers by applying technical knowledge, safety and skills to lay out, assemble, install and maintain plumbing fixtures and systems for natural gas, hot water, heating, drainage, and industrial processing systems in home and business environments. The program covers instruction in source determination, water distribution, waste removal, isometric drawing, basic physics, technical mathematics, blueprint reading, pipe installation and soldering, plumbing inspection and applicable codes and standards.
Detail oriented. Plumbers must obey national code standards designed to protect the health of their customers.
Interpersonal skills. Plumbers must develop professional relationships with colleagues and customers in order to maintain a positive business model.
Listening skills. Plumbers must be diligent in keeping an open communication with code updates and customer feedback to insure proper career development.
Organizational skills. To insure career advancement and an efficiently operated business model, plumbers must keep accurate records that reflect these traits.
